I could have taken a profit on them after the sale but decided not to . I don't understand why you would buy something and then sell it again a few weeks later in the same market for the same money .....and he gave me some luck.

3k up here
Weve never bought outfits at 3k.
Seems an awful lot of money to lay out .
We keep a few of our own heifers to bull and buy a few bullers but sometimes wonder if we're wrong.
Not often there is 30k spare to buy ten outfits.
Heifer job not so bad once your in the system.
Neighbour was at last sale at Carlisle, he went for bullin heifers, they were 2k so bought with calf at foot for 2.5k, he would def do right when bullers that price!

I very rarely go over 2k . Never seen the need to . I did go up to 2200 yesterday on one but she went on way past it . She was a young cow with an exceptional bull calf at foot .
.....wasted on me really !!

Iā€™ve never paid that much for an outfit. I can remember paying Ā£2200 probably paid Ā£2400 but not that I can remember at the moment. Plenty of folks up her will pay Ā£2800-Ā£3400 for them. I always reckon when you get near Ā£3000 you would need to keep them for four years or so without too many hiccups to pay the money back. Too much like buying work in a lot of ways.

I didnā€™t get there. I heard bullers were a hell of a trade. There wasnā€™t many there which wouldnā€™t help matters. 2k for bulling heifers is cracking on a bit for me. The ones we bought last year at that sale were better types averaged just over Ā£1600 sounds like they would be nearer the 2k mark.
