Most of their wages are around £70k for junior staff, the big wigs are all over £100k a year.

+ cars/ expenses etc etc

They have a staff of some 530+...

Rent on their 5,5 million HQ at Stoneleigh..

The list goes on and on.....

really??? Is that fact??? or just hearsay..

Am def not having a go at you GUTH.. if those figures are along those lines then it must be time for a re think/cost cutting...

lord knows we at grass roots are told to do it day in day out..

Maybe but from a marketing point of view it would be very hard to sell the concept of them like you can native bred grass fed cattle etc
Yes but used to find a bit more margin in them as you must I think also ,I find this 'grass fed ' idea a bit strange as local abattoir s here dont want it and get very upset about yellow fat as can't sell it , one used to give a bonus if o- 2 to 4l cattle were in butchers shop weight range 280-320 kg I think , they certainly didn't mince them or care if they were bulls

What makes sense and what is good marketing material is like comparing a Zetor to a John Deere!

Then you think wrong!

Take a look at the threads about home saved cereal seed where people haven't paid the royalties due.

At the end of the day the consumer will eat what's best value for money. They don't care where it comes from. Remember the bse crisis and Mr penningtons comments. Nobody wanted to eat beef. Supermarkets slashed the price to get rid of it and suddenly it was flying off shelf and no fear of a bit of cjd.
Go to wetherspoons on Tues evening steak night 14 oz AA rump plus drink £ 10 can't get in the car park !

110% correct im afraid!

Thou they did want a £10 million pound HQ but the government at the time refused to give them permission for it!

Which like you say, makes me so mad that they keep telling us that we need to cut costs when they are spending our levy money like it grows on trees!

If you knew half what goes on ref jobs for family etc you would be utterly shocked!

Don't forget that PK is on £55,000 + for a 2 day week!

Jayne King is on about £150,000 a year!

( and not sure what either of them actually does in real terms either! )

Guth you do spout some nonsense.
More like 110% incorrect.
The top 6 on the leadership team have salaries from 75k to 135k.
The junior staff are on far from 70k.
See my screen grab below for some more accurate wage figures.
I'm all for holding Adhb to account, but you'd give yourself far more credence if you were less sensationalist and stuck to the facts a bit more.

Those figures are utter rubbish ( and only an estimate as they say so ) if they are correct then why do they have junior jobs advertised for around £30,000 and mid tier jobs advertised at £67/77000???

Jayne king ( as has been reported for a long time ) gets at least £144,000 ( including money paid into her pension ) and Peter Kendal gets £55,000 for a 2 day week which has also been widely reported since he took up the post!

14 job vacancy's on the AHDB website tonight, 12 range in salary from £25,000 to £76,000 with most of these around £37/50,000 range and only two are around £20,000 a year!

So im spouting nonsense am I??

You said
"Most of their wages are around £70k for junior staff, the big wigs are all over £100k a year."

Well you've already changed your tune for junior jobs at 70k down to 30k. And some less again.
The salaries for the top 6 'leadership team' are listed as 75k - 135k (Jane King on 130-135k, which I too would like to know how she 'earns' that) so big wigs not 'all over 100k' either.

I'm not defending Adhb, as I said, they need to be held accountable. But exaggerating things so to make your point reduces your credibility.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
