Took some Hoggs today...trade can only described as crap
Ah well, at least some poor bloke's life's work hadn't been in vain - at least his stock sold well after he'd gone.
I know they're too heavyReally! I'd have been happy if my texels out of mules made that kind of money! How were yours breed?
You know you've got them too big and not what the market wants. GUTH will explain it for you :roflmao:
nice when a sale like that goes wellWent to a suckler cow dispersal bereavement sale today at Wigton. Mix of nice commercial cows were an unreal trade as many were well into their teens. Plenty of cows 13-15 year old with £500-700 calves at foot making £1600-1900!
Strangely I came home with an empty trailer.
I know they're too heavy
one pen were out of mules the rest were 3/4 texel the £100 one was beltex x char
Without being big headed they were tremendously well shaped..was hoping for over £90Considering they were massively over weight you should be happy with that trade! Lambs are 160-170 in spec remember
I might try some nice 44-45kg lambs on Monday if I get over £80 I'll be doing very wellWithout being big headed they were tremendously well shaped..was hoping for over £90

What company? And just to cheer you up iv been told that at least one beef company is dropping the cattle price next week!
What company?
They've been higher than others tho....it's bound to go down next week , I'm sending someOne that you used to supply.
I add I haven't been told this officially but from someone who sends them a lot of cattle.
They are going to a foyles plantEngland exporting beef to Ireland...there's a novelty
I think there a real shortage off beef fullstop.today a man had bought 26 cull cows in Gisburn to go kill at a plant in ireland
