It should help like it did last lockdown. McCartneys ludlow reported a drop in beef trade today and said buyers had orders cancelled because of the uncertainty of todays lockdown announcement.

Cynic in me reckons they still bought but just at lower prices but i cant swear by it.

Sedge up today for prime lambs and prime cattle also a stand on if not slightly dearer trade than last week.

Anyone get to Blackmoor gate today...just heard they were a little less...about time too with Brexit looming...see the french are going to stand strong over fishing...
Heard today that a deal was imminent ,fishing has been kicked into the long grass .No change to fishing for at least two years and to be reviewed then . Makes sense I suppose as there is no chance of them coming to an agreement on fishing so do what politicians do , if they can’t fix it they ignore it.

To be fair not any less if anything a touch up I thought, though the lambs are getting smaller as people are getting through them, saw several pens of nice texel types 35-40 kgs up to £84, average would have been down, several pens of v-small lambs.

I would have thought whispers of an impending lockdown would have seen their orders increased rather than cancelled?

I was feeling very cynical a fortnight ago at Whitland! 🙄

I don’t think there will be many store lambs left soon. Most folk have cleared out at least a month early that I know on the good trade.

Been through what I’ve left tonight 18 that will be 25kg and 5 of the mrs pet Jacobs going on wednsday in the stores... if I clear £50 I’ll be happy... if I clear £60 I’ll be very happy... if I clear £70 I’ll load everything else Iv got for stores next week [emoji23] I seem too of had 70 lambs left for way too long 🤦🏻‍♂️
