Is the deal coming next week ?Barnier on his way.Heavy lambs being better are in hope of pubs and restaurants reopening. Buyers today are warning that they will need to be lean to make good money.
Export is driving the price at present but a little resistance as the pound has strengthened against the euro.

Does the light trade depend a lot on currency. They seemed to want light ones last spring.Who knows? Not even Barnier yet I fear!!
However all those people who have been buying those Store lambs are convinced there will be a deal!
So lets all hope there is.
They tend too want what the majority of us haven’t got...Does the light trade depend a lot on currency. They seemed to want light ones last spring.
That is so true.....They tend too want what the majority of us haven’t got...

Thanks, very enlightening, do you think that will put more pressure on domestic trade going forward, Brexit aside? No currency helps of course but more about whether they can be sourced from other countries more cheaply. Most of the lambs from Milk sheep will be available from February through to July which fit the light lamb job. Italy, Spain and France all have these at times and increasingly they are being sourced from further East, Romania, Bulgaria, Czech and Slovakia are all increasing sheep numbers quickly.

Yes at certain times of the year it already does. Thanks, very enlightening, do you think that will put more pressure on domestic trade going forward, Brexit aside?
I wouldn’t be worrying too much about a deal. Numbers are well short. If they don’t want our lamb they will have to source it from elsewhere which in turn will open up a notch for us to fill. That and the fact we can sell to anywhere we want anywhere else. Add on the fact that sheep meat is selling at record levels all over the world. I’m not sure what is to worry about apart from not having enough to sell.Who knows? Not even Barnier yet I fear!!
