I have just had a curry mine might be like hessian in the morningNo more like hessian, baldrick style being a serf ....
Hope we get a detailed report on the trade, even for those crossbred tups no one should be interested inANYWAY. Back to sheep. Crossbred tups are a total heap of shite. You get the worst of both sides. No use at all. Everyone should stick to pure bred tups. Well, until Sunday anyway…
I joke to my wife that if I kept sheep as badly as some folk do locally all mine would be dead! When do you not want your sheep to be the best in the bunch? When you drop them off at the kennels. Everyone else’s shite seem to die but my good ones do.
Yes that’s a good one I’ve never heard that oneI joke to my wife that if I kept sheep as badly as some folk do locally all mine would be dead!
'tek breedin as bad as that' i once heard a fella say !Yes that’s a good one I’ve never heard that one
Another one is when you see someone with some real bad sheep and say ‘he’s got to have been trying hard to get them all as bad as that’
The knackerman thinks I only have really good sheep….I don’t it’s just they are the only ones he gets….the screws last foreverWhen do you not want your sheep to be the best in the bunch an better than anyone else? I once had two shots in a paddock next road , got all the comments of the smart arses ,, yea yea pee off made £90 quid in april when all the hot shots had sold theirs for £60 lol he who laughs last laughs longest .We call them shots
They sometimes make more in April than the better lambs do in September
Some people round here would struggle to find 2 good ones to put in the paddock by the road.I once had two shots in a paddock next road , got all the comments of the smart arses ,, yea yea pee off made £90 quid in april when all the hot shots had sold theirs for £60 lol he who laughs last laughs longest .
Rain forecast for Exeter next weekend.Went to Exeter yesterday and i was really surprised how good overall the trade was, yes i understand the forward lambs being a good trade, but some small long keep lambs were mostly late 60s...i dont have very much grass ..i think have less as each day goes by, yes i know they should have a good price for their lambs as they have had to lamb them etc etc , but all things considered they are a good trade,my fear is we are as we are now in mid Sept which when you look at the weather forecasts is very likely, what price are these lambs going to be then...this could get very serious and a lot worst than many realise..anyway lets go and have a coffee..
Lets hope so and far and wide for all our sakesRain forecast for Exeter next weekend.
Mother used to say a thunderstorm and then going dry and hot again made it burn worst...One thunderstorm will barely dampen the dust
We need 2 weeks of mizzle
