Shouldn’t bother the locals if there’s more sheep there and the auction is flying. More buyers will come and be keener so makes the sheep dearer.Got told there were 6 Irish sheep wagons in Carlisle on Sunday night. Looks like it was worth their while as the trade was good.
Not so good for the locals who are hanging around all day to sell their sheep though.
Is that any change recently?Dunbia 8.50 for kill today
When I went through them with alamycin it did put a break in it for a few days not 100% though but only lasted a few daysDoes jabbing the ewes make any difference or does it not touch campo? Will it blow itself out?
Usually some get infected and die of itMy ewes aren't dying from it.just aborting, having dead lambs or weak things that don't last long.
Vet said there's different strains.we seem to have the one that affects the fetus.
Whatever this type isWhich type of Cheviot? Maybe the big Park type?
I thought the chlamydia one was enzootic abortion and campylobacter was a different thing altogether? Not seen campy but have seen EnzoIf it’s the chlamydia one (campo) there’s often a white discharge on the placenta
Sorry that’s probably rightI thought the chlamydia one was enzootic abortion and campylobacter was a different thing altogether? Not seen campy but have seen Enzo

I think it can do. Our vets said wee would probably better just to ride it out this timeDoes jabbing the ewes make any difference or does it not touch campo? Will it blow itself out?
When we had it twice we had 30% aborted or had weak lambs that died. Year after no sign at all.I think it can do. Our vets said wee would probably better just to ride it out this time
It's on a 10-25 day cycle.very contagious, so if a ewe aborts or has dead lambs.other will pick it up from there (tight lambing sheds aren't great for that).
So we have been isolating them when we see one starting to lamb
Where do you draw the line on vaccinations with sheep….heptavac, enzo, toxo, campo. Christ the costs soon mount up and all the extra work…..I don’t vaccinate them for a single thing…. I know one day I’ll live to regret it.When we had it twice we had 30% aborted or had weak lambs that died. Year after no sign at all.
We have a bit about this year but not too many. Will be looking to vaccinate next year.

You will always get the most problems in the first few days.I’m 3 days into lambing and haven’t a live lamb yet. Plenty of ewes dieing with lambs in as well.
That’s a Lairg type Cheviot.Whatever this type is
