Does jabbing the ewes make any difference or does it not touch campo? Will it blow itself out?
I think it can do. Our vets said wee would probably better just to ride it out this time

It's on a 10-25 day cycle.very contagious, so if a ewe aborts or has dead lambs.other will pick it up from there (tight lambing sheds aren't great for that).
So we have been isolating them when we see one starting to lamb

When we had it twice we had 30% aborted or had weak lambs that died. Year after no sign at all.

We have a bit about this year but not too many. Will be looking to vaccinate next year.

Where do you draw the line on vaccinations with sheep….heptavac, enzo, toxo, campo. Christ the costs soon mount up and all the extra work…..I don’t vaccinate them for a single thing…. I know one day I’ll live to regret it.

I just give my lambs Covexin about May time and at weaning and thats it. Scratch for Orf if theres any vaccine.

All these horror stories of abortion is getting me seriously worried. As if the weather and just general lambing problems arent enough to worry about.

Ewes get crushed propcorn Barley or oats with some nuts mixed in from about mid January, gradually building up until they start lambing, and thats it. After that they get nowt but grazing.

Best thing i can ever do is pull maybe 2 or 3 dozen thins out in January onto a better field on their own. It saves a fair few lives.
