Beet 23

Oh no! I live in fear of that.
I have seperate racks for beet and wheat herbicides, both of them were part pots that I must have put together when I ‘tidied up’

I had about 400 acres of spraying to do in 3 days before I went on holiday, of beet and cereals. I know what happened I grabbed all the beet herbicides I needed and took them up to the other farm and cracked on.

But if the herbicide companies even just changed the label designs I’d have noticed?

The only saving grace is that it was the last field, about 10% of the total area. Need the rest of the beet to average 90t/ha now to make quota…

I’m here to perform the public service of making you all feel better about your beet:

Totally agree. Should be different sized pots and with different colour labels or else carrying wording with differing colour labels stating 'sugarbeet', 'wheat' etc. One fudge up with one pot of SU would be enough to finish a crop off economcially.

I remember seeing a presentation slide where someone had sprayed a load of seed spuds with thor....

15g? Are you going through quite a few times? I aim to tie my blw control up in 2 passes so usually at least 20g here
Yep. Often end up doing 4…. Not ideal but every time I try to leave for 2 big hits I regret it. Big bindweed knotgrass and blackgrass pressure. Trying conviso for the first time here. Definitely need to improve my strategy.

As I’ve just replied to them on Twitter, if a public kitchen has to have different colour chopping boards for meat, salad, bread etc. Then why aren’t they putting different herbicides in different colour pots?
I think it would work for fung/herb/insecticides but then when you consider all the crops some herbicides are approved for you’d need an awful lot of colours…then you have to cater for colour blind people…! But you’re so right; they could do an awful lot more on those little granule tubs. CEREALS ONLY in big letters or BROAD LEAVED CROPS ONLY

Agree its not cheap. Same as xchange. But I want to get rid of the BG and it does help.
Thought i would just chip in here! X-Clude is a new generation water conditioner, its chemistry is different to that of X-Change. pretty much in most of our trials it tops X-Change when it comes to partnering the herbicide for control. Happy to help if more info is needed.

Is there a list of agrochemicals that show improved performance with x-clude in hard water?

I pushed the hoe through some of ours today, hopefully it'll wake them up a bit.
No wonder they're struggling the ground has gone very tight with all the wet weather we had.

Also the last couple of hot days seem to have really caused a myzus population explosion, today I could easily find winged and countless juvenile wingless on the plants when last Thursday and Friday I was struggling to find much at all.

Hi attached is a couple of technical sheets for X-Clude. I hope this helps. There are various Herbicides it will be affective with. if there is anything in particular let me know.

What is your recommended adjuvant to go with hormone herbicides in grassland? In those situations I think chemistry needs all the help it can get! Would torpedo II be the one to use or is there something else?

This is a difficult one and one we often get asked. Adjuavnt approvals on Grassland (non Amenity) is very limted especailly when it comes to Phenoxy Herbicides. There isnt anything we can recommend for this, however most Phenoxys are strong acids and can be prone to lock up in hard water, it would be worthwhile looking at using a good water Conditioner to ensure the biological activity of the herbicide is getting the best chance it can in this situation.
