Good old zwarbtles. I bet them spotty things look Bonny with their wool offNot necessarily. The Dutch Spotted sheep isn’t just a spotty Texel, it’s just a spotty sheep from Holland. Zwartbles have played a part in them too!
Do they milk well? Not necessarily. The Dutch Spotted sheep isn’t just a spotty Texel, it’s just a spotty sheep from Holland. Zwartbles have played a part in them too!

Not enough I would sayI was going too say Jacob 3/4 generations back!
I was reading about the make up of the modern Zwartble the other week. Plenty of texel in them nowadays!
I’m warming too them. Bought a ruck of tups and wethers out of Dingwall. (Cheap!) Seen nowt but grass and 3 weeks of turnip tops 51kg £90. Even the blackies don’t pay like that! Not enough I would say

The ones from Dingwall might have been better than someI bet they were tall buggers
I had them running with a bunch of Cheviot feeding ewes, it was hilarious really. Little fat pot bellied ewes being dwarfed by lanky Zwartble wethers!I bet they were tall buggers
Funnily we have a couple of Zwartbles ewes that have the look of a Char about them.I was going too say Jacob 3/4 generations back!

They do. Twins and triplets pretty common. However will need good feed to produce enough milk. Often kept by dairy farmers as a side enterprise to mow behind the cows which means they are used to top notch grass.Do they milk well?
