It does get my back up how much disrespect the 100hp tractor gets these days. Most brand don't seem to get a rat's arse about them so you end up with CNH paying someone else to make their farmall and New Holland equivalent. John Deere stopped making the 5R which just shows how little they care. Class gets their small tractors made in a Italy factory.
Finding a tractor under 2.5m high and 1.8m wide is like finding hens teeth unless you want a vineyard tractor...

As far as finding a second hand tractor it's the same as any tractor regardless of size and brand it's all about dealer back up and the state of the tractor.

I find our n103,110hp really quite handy, great for knocker and posts in the bucket. Bought it at just over 5 years old and had a new oil pump under dealer warranty.

Always makes me smile when tractors between 70 and 120 horsepower are sometimes referred to as small tractors, or ‘ideal for a smallholding’.

Half a century ago when I was in my teens we all had Massey 35s or the all new 135: Dextas or Majors or maybe even the new ‘heavyweight tractor for the really big jobs’ meaning a Ford 5000 or Massey 175.

Not one of these tractors had over 75hp: most had about 45 and 99% of British tractors were two wheel drive and cabs were very much optional and in the minority.

Yes there were more of them, and more staff to drive them, but they did everything on the farm and we always got the work done on time. Still have a 135 and a 265 here, but I admit I will always go for one of the modern tractors to do jobs. But half the time we don’t need all these horses under the bonnet and I often think that 100 is plenty for many of the jobs we do.

Wouldn’t want to go back, and you can’t halt progress; but it does make me smile when I hear of these 100 hp four wheel drive tractors being referred to as ‘little’!
lol had our MF 135 on the haybob 360 rake today (bigger and heavier than the normal HB) , nimble and hardly used any fuel , could do with a bit more weight on the front (loader) and will be grand

Bought the last one off Lloyds
The Mrs gets on well with Rickerbys they ring us up for deals on all sorts of stuff not sure what the Claas tractors are like for reliability though

Try and find a clean low houred valtra n101,111 or 121 they were bomb proof. But like hens back teeth to find as no one sells them once theve got them.
Thats what im thinking. There arent many around, and if they are, they have about 10,000 hours on. Robsons at Thirsk had a low houred 3 year old one in,but it was an A,engine made in China kind of put me off. I can find an Arion430,a Massey 5612,a Maxum 125,JD 6130M,or NH T140.All roughly same price with 2000-5500 hours on,and from 5 to 8 years old.

Gonna say the same thing... Nowt wrong (so far) with the 9960 Kubota with FEL I got 2 years ago, 600hrs on a 15 plate. Bit lightweight and basic for some, but I do not want heavy kit.

Kioti have a nice range of what would now be called Tiddlers 70-90hp, but not enough real Dealers about.

If you have a Zetor dealer nearby....
Actually I do. I'm spoilt for choice really. Apart from Deutz and Massey and Case 🤣 ok not too spoilt.
What annoys me about zetor and most other "basic" tractors is that they never have a good visibility for a loader. Like how much can it possibly cost to put a window in the roof..
I saw an article the other day about the new 3 series from Massey and the alpine edition is pushing my nostalgic buttons for the 3095mf...

I love the alpine 37 series from MF ideal livestock tractor, the only problem was it was 10k dearer than the 47 series now thinking 37 wf maybe , still think I'll have to have a sit down after hearing the price.
