What cordless clippers can everyone recommend? I have a set of shearcordless mk1 but the its terrible now it’s worn it won’t keep a good connection and turns itself off even when you tape the battery on. I’m not really looking for a Rambo style thing just a set to keep in the box of the bike.

Horner, Welsh Shearing, Masterclip...

They all sell the same Chinese rechargeable unit in their own name. Quality control is very typically hit or miss. Some units are very good, others don't last long, but that maybe depends on the user and job they're put to. Each company do their own warranty and I've not heard any quibbles...

Or you can buy it, direct from China, on ebay

Thats exactly why I would recommend Horner as back up and warranty if you get a bad one would be second to none.

The original Welsh Shearing one was a bit problematic and I persevered with it for 3 years but battery retention and battery contacts were poor.
Similar ones are available elsewhere and should be avoided in my view.

The Mark 2 version which I now have is a different kettle of fish, comes with 3 batteries and would have no hesitation recommending it now.

Got a masterclip in June, good machine for dragging away from home, 100 times better than old handshears, l have a rambo aswell, plug in one, its a great machine but expensive. As said all those machines are made in china just different colours.
