I would say Bridgnorth has one of the dearest ewe trades out of the above mentioned, this has also been confirmed to me by a buyer who was moaning that in his words “it’s one of the dearest places for killing ewes” 💥💥🔥🔥

My neighbours always take great pleasure in telling me I should have sold at this or that market ''would have made more'', one of them kept on and on about one market, until I took some ewes, very good, so kept going there, neighbour then asked how I was getting on, turned out he had never been himself, just reading reports. As you can only sell an animal once, you never really know if it was better or worse, only if it really falls out of bed, and the number of irate chaps stomping around complaining about market scales, put your hand on the 'wet backed gutty stores!

Im not sure any trade is worth chasing if it's a 100 miles away but Hereford has been consistently very good and the facilities are good . I suppose if you have a hundred to get rid of and you get an extra £3 a head for travelling it's worth it . I note that sheep of all sorts are travelling a long way to Hereford and so are the buyers .

I’ve seriously considered it for heavy ewes, and I’m 50 miles from Hereford but 7 from Welshpool.
