Big 6 roof cement fibre sheets

Been putting a steel framed kit building up over the quiet Xmas period. Going to start roofing it today. 3 rows of sheets. Any tips to make the job easier? And any advise on cutting corners off on overlap so not to make a hash of it!!?? Thanks in advance any help much appreciated.

Do it in rows it a lot easier, i.e. From bottom to top of roof. Put your first row down, do plenty of measuring off the rafter to make sure your straight, and spy it a few times, if you start straight it's easy to keep straight.

Put first sheet of second row down, you'll see now that your top corner is overlapping the bottom corner of the second sheet up and the top corner of the bottom sheet on the first row. So you want to get your stihl saw or grinder and cut the corner off the second sheet up and your second row bottom sheet, careful not to cut through the bottom sheet though

Don't look at the measurements they'll change depending how big your lap is but should give you an idea

I've never done this myself. How do you cut the mitres? Is it done in situ on the roof so no jigs or measuring or do you make a jig and cut each sheet away from where they are being installed?

Did a lean to last year.
It was almost the excuse I needed to get a cordless angle grinder.
I stuck to the mains one though, 4.5" with diamond stone cutting disc (to keep full disc size).
Just cut them on the roof before you put the 4th one on the top to finish it off.

Do it by eye with a 9 inch grinder but just be careful on the last one, cut nearly through then snap the rest off. It's a doddle once you've done a few.

Put 1st row on both sides of roof and take time to get square and straight
Try to get overlaps the same if possible and at least 6"
Then WRITE THE MEASUREMENTS DOWN
Mitres are if going left to right TOP LEFT BOTTOM RIGHT
Right to left TOP RIGHT BOTTOM LEFT

We always cut mitres on floor in their packs with stihl saw but carefully count so only do for one side of roof

Then stack pallets with sheets in reverse order with lights in place where needed and lift up to men on roof for fitting

We never ever use screw nails only roofing screws much faster

If you follow this link https://www.marleyeternit.co.uk/Roofing/Profiled-Sheeting/Profile-6.aspx to the Marley Eternit website and scroll down to brochures, you can download fitting guides for sheets, ridges, barge board etc. As RWG has said, don't take too much notice of the dimensions given for the mitres as this will vary depending on your purlin spacings/lap.

get your building square from the start ive seen people struggle like hell sheeting buildings which are slightly out of square (re reefing rather than new build just to confirm!)
if you find your running off catch it early and straighten it over a few sheets
does any one else find sheets can end up covering slightly more area than the brochure says eg the marley eternity link says net covering width 1016mm and total width 1086mm so 36 sheets on a 120ft building should be 36,646 mm (35*1016 + 1086) but I found mine might have been 30mm longer than this? didn't matter I just started 40mm outside of centre on 1st rafter but ended a little wider than this? (my end bays are 15ft same as all the rest)
