Caught these cheeky House Martins making a nest on our grain store door, not very clever.
Open the door to load, but they remain undeterred and start back over again when it's closed.
Anyone else have daft nesting places?

Pigeons started to build a nest on top of a ladder in the open fronted barn. They looked like woodpigeons but I think they were stock doves, a species I have no experience of. Anyway, they gave up, but I've seen them having a look at different times. Apparently, wood pigeons are actually doves and stock doves are actually pigeons (if you happen to be a biologist!).

Back in 2007, swallows nested in my bedroom. Windows were open all day and night. It was pretty magical, although I did have to fumble my way to bed in the dark each night and nip out in the morning between bird visits. They roosted on top of the wardrobe and would start each morning with a great sing-song before flying outside. I've rented the farmhouse out since, but the nest is still there - photo taken today. They must have used good glue - that nest is 13 years old.

Didn't they crap everywhere? I dearly love swallows, but it can't hide the fact that they do make a mess.
