Blood sucking ahdb

If that is the case highland mule does the mean everybody in other sectors send all their bps back to the ahdb like I do ,I don't think so.

No, and you don’t do that either, do you? You get a few quid over £100k in BPS according to the government records, and you tell us you pay £30k in levy on qualifying annual revenue If just under £10M.

I really wish you’d cut the repeated lies and complaints and stick to the facts - I’d even go so far as to say that if you spent as much time looking at your own accounts as you do the AHDB’s, your own company wouldn’t be in the state it is now.

I own 400 acre times that by 70 ,the year you mention was the year we had a eu grant on piece of packing machinery which is shown on the payment (the only time) ,I have told you before all the rest over £28,000 goes back to the farmer and my own bps goes to the ahdb, what do you think is a problem with our accounts we show a profit without the bps.

You get a feck sight more bps than me I will tell you that for nothing, not that I have any scruples about claiming
Put your land down to grass and keep a few suck cows, see how you get on if you think tis so easy to make a quid

And you are having a go at me I own a part share of 8 acres and rent/ grass keep the rest.
Just cos you choose to pay over the odds for rent is up to you and other farmers that are silly enough to do it

I really cannot see why you are so hostile, unless like I said before you think they will come after you to make up the shortfall,if it was the arable or livestock sector fighting to get rid the ahdb I would be saying well done best of luck, what is it with you guys wading in with this attitude.

I won't repeat what one of you chaps told me but something along the lines if you can't make it pay get out.

The subsidy landscape might well not be fair, but that is not AHDB's fault - I think one of the most frustrating things about working for AHDB is trying your hardest every day on behalf of the industry and being lumped in with the EU and and govt. I often used to think it was a lot like being a farmer - a real lack of understanding between you and half your customers!

At the end of the day it is about everyone paying for the things everyone uses. It seems fair to me and allows smaller growers to benefit from research that everyone pays for. But if you're paying and not using it I can totally see how that would grate. My question would be are you sure you're not using a chemical that you've got because AHDB have done the emergency use? Or doing something that originated from levy funded research?

The thing that motivated me to post on this was the accusations that the people at AHDB are dishonest and lazy - that is not the case at all. 90% care and are doing their best for industry. And they couldn't lie if they wanted to - everything they do has to be 100% above board I've no idea why it will take as long a it will take to call the ballot, but I would bet a large sum that it is not something underhand behind it.
we have some more good news this morning the largest grower in the country has come on board, which means we have three out of the four largest growers in the country in total about 40,000 acres, you see E if everybody was happy with your old company there would not be so much discontent, that would mean the ahdb would have no need to go on a propaganda excise because we would all be won over years ago,to say they are going to change says it all.

Thought you wrote that size doesn't matter?
Size doesn't matter to me but it seems to matter in their ballot, the minister when he decides which way to jump is going to take into account how many levy payers vote and even though it may not be weighted if 50 small growers vote for them to be closed down and one very large grower wants to keep them it will taken into account.

I can see that being a valid consideration of the vote is very close, but wasn’t that the very thing you and Simon complained about with the potato sector? Seems you’re happy with bending the rules in your favour, but not so much the other way. Here’s hoping for a landslide so it’s not an issue.

And let’s be honest (assuming you’re able to be) - if size didn’t matter to you, you wouldn’t have mentioned it three posts above.

I only mentioned it for the reason l have outlined,it might tip the scales in their favour. One more thing do you want to see us fail or succeed because you now beginning to confuse me,or did you mean a landslide for them.

Purely because of your attitude exhibited on here I have no desire to see your campaign succeed, but I realise that this might not be the view of the sector as a whole and do respect that. I want a landslide one way or another though, because history has shown us that close results generally result in nobody actually winning, and both parties whining.
