Do you think it appropriate @White rabbit that if you have private conversations at high level about possible policy issues that you immeadiately write about it on a public forum?
I'm not so sure that that is a good idea and it may not help your case. Of course I could be wrong ....... but in trying to make change like you are discretion is an important and valuable character trait 😉

An gof the main reason is the ahdb spies that look in ,the ahdb need to know whats happening because when your head is stuck in the sand things can be missed.Talking of spies it has emerged that in our sector there are 10 knowledge exchange managers, we have constantly told them the last thing we need is exchanging knowledge like I said head in the sand.

You probably need to have a word with this chap then with a view to getting him removed, if he is not speaking for the industry he shouldn’t be there.

So, just to clarify, Mark Coulman or George Dunn has told you that both himself and Bryan Griffiths have an agreed position for the two organisations to campaign to disband the AHDB? Strange that, when George's position last month was one of reform rather than disbanding and NSA have nothing other than positive stories regarding AHDB on their website for the last year.

Look @White rabbit we operate in a very small industry where pretty much everyone knows someone who knows.
I have no doubt that news from both NSA and TFA filters back to AHDB quite well with or without TFF 😉

An gof we started this campaign to try and get some justice for the horticultural sector god knows I have enough to do without fighting the ahdb( I had five cabbage gangs walk off today wanting more money they are earning £35 an hour) I know you are a big Ali capper fan but in today’s horticultural week she has lost all credibility , she’s complaining that she wants the government to buy up her hops ,she has 100 acres which brings in £6,000 an acre so even though she gets £600, 000 a year plus Nfu salary, plus Nfu mutual she still wants a government handout ,and pays no levy .My grandfather used to say some people are still hungry when their belly is full.

Nothing to do with whether I am a fan of Ms Capper or not. Once again you are allowing your prejudice to clod your judgement. One of her roles is to support and promote Hops. I would suggest she is doing what the Hop growers of her organisation want by putting the issue at the heart of Government.
I would however agree that with all her appointments it must be difficult to give each the time and input that it deserves. However, she is, without doubt, a very capable lady.
£35/hour ...... that’s some money for cutting cabbage, no doubt linked to a piece rate or are every one of your staff getting that money regardless of quantity cut?

Don’t be silly an gof it’s piece work , she is head of horticulture ,she should be looking after all of her members, surely having the decency and respect to at least reply to our emails but no she can’t be bothered. Why are you defending her are you a hop grower an gof or do you know her,if so tell her to give us a call.

An gof I hope you realise that the red tractor is a non profit organisation as you know owned by the Nfu ,but what does that mean because the top man at red tractor who is or was David Gregory is only on £35,000 a year not much you would agree, maybe the staff are working for a basic wage just to keep costs down, that is until you read that he has only got to work 50 days a year or one day a week ,which of course is £700 a day , maybe this is how you can make sure you don’t make a profit.s

£700 a day for access to an industry stalwart - seems a good deal to a man who’s paying about half of that for a cabbage picker.

Seriously though, that’s not much for a decent consultant - our own Clive Bailley charges about the same for advice in direct drilling, and many others in here will be too, for their specialisms.

its one thing charging those that are quite willing to pay a high price for advice or whatever, its quite another using money from those that are forced to pay whether they like it or not or use the advice or not these high salaries

You are seriously out of touch @White rabbit David Gregory finished with RT at the end of 2015.
We now have an over enthusiastic Jim Moseley as head honcho and I am sure he is a a whole lot more than £35k
