Bonding sandstone veneers to sandstone wall

Just om repairing an inside sandstone wall at my house.... It's an exterior wall exposed in new extension. Be repaired some of the bad faced stones and cut them back and putting a slim new fave on them. Any ideas what to use to bond them to the old sandstone before re pointing? I wondered if dry wall adhesive would work. Sandstone veneers are about 3/4 inch thick

No don't use that it is plaster based it will expand if it gets wet and push the stone out again I take its a old house on dpc I would just use the pointing mix or some resin the stuff you can get to anchor bolts in wall might need a something to hold stone in place while its sets resin sets in minutes though

Worked a treat.....mixed it quite stiff but sticky enough.... Bonded well

It will but seeing as it's a wall it will be to runny and it will run down the wall and make a mess and because it's sandstone it will stain really easy and won't be easy to clean off if it dries if it's a slurry you want it a bit stiffer than that

Sorry wrong wording. A stiff paste will do it

CT1 about £14 a tube but seems to stick anything, check the users guide for suitability.

Edit; Just to add I’ve looked it up, they make a thing called power grab bond that is definitely fit for purpose
