Our supermarkets are fully stocked and the outage only resulted for less then a week that was due to government incompetence and sending mixed signals, one minute we were to have a lock down the next we were not.

In the evening Boris announced a full lockdown, the following morning Gove went on the telly and told everyone that builders should continue to work, and merchants should remain open. One minute we were told to wear masks, the next we were told not too.

MP's were on TV each day talking to the media standing next to one another, yet telling the public to stay 2 meters apart.

The public lost faith and panic brought.

Shops are still out of some goods now - and they are rationing to prevent other outages, so where is the week coming from... Oh, and not forgetting back orders.. because demand outstripped supply by a serious margin...

And for the record - a lot of the problems being faced here are media driven via inaccurate data and twisting of things to get the dramatic effect.
Media should have been the first thing to be shut down to avoid mass panic imho, because people cannot think past the next Faceache chat or what's up message these days...

I just checked and it appears I could still order with an on line distribution company for land drainage pipe, but due to Global Supply Issues there may be delays.... Go figure that hey...
[/QUOTE]

The reason why I can't order land drain is because eventhough my local merchant has 20+ rolls in his yard, the government have promised the merchants staff 80% of their pay for sitting at home, so they refuse to work.

The same government, at the same time have issued an online statement last week stating that they wanted all construction work to continue and merchants to stay open?

You couldn't make it up! Is it any wonder the public panic bought? the government don't fill us with confidence.

Anyway the weathers grand and I need to get on, so in the interests of simplicity, I shall agree with your viewpoints. I apologise if any offence was caused it was unintentional.

Have a good afternoon.

Sorry, you cannot claim the 80% because you do not want to work, you can only get it if your company furloghs you the last I knew and I cant see that changed recently?

The company has been forced to close because the workers don't want to work! They went off sick. The company don't want to push the workers or they will have no staff when they re open

If members here have said that they are pleased out pm is in intensive care they should be banned from this forum, pure scum nothing else . Good photo Chae & get well soon Boris.

I think the issue is more with the "reaction" buttons than anything else tbh. I don't think the members actually "liked" the fact Boris is blowing for tugs but were grateful for the information from the poster.
@Chris F ........ can I have some TFF points for this insight please? Might stop some blood on the carpet ..........
