If you get a big orphan lamb do you give it the amount of colostrum it says on the bag or bit more and can too much damage lamb guts

Never skimp, if in doubt give it some more.
On the mother they would be getting colostrum for a few days before it turned to milk.

Think i'd just give it a bit more, the amount of colostrum a ewe has varies a lot from ewe to ewe if they get loads they can get more easily bunged up with that foul smelling orange sh!t under their tails. Dunno if the same happens with powdered stuff.

If it is a few days old then it won't need any Colostrum.

Never skimp in first 12hrs, thereafter it is debatable if more is better.
