"There was a post on here recently where somone has set up or is setting up their own ' Raw Jersey Milk ' farm produced and packaged buisiness. They are not using bottles which are expensive, they are using cartons that are re cyclable. No bottling and capping machines , and true fresh milk . That's the way to do it.

We have milk delivered in bottles from a local(ish) Farm - they tell me demand is rising fast for the service

Costs a bit more though

Raw milk is an exceptionally bad idea. Milk should be pasteurised, the general public arnt used to raw milk.

I miss raw milk - grew up on a dairy farm with milk straight from the bulk tank and bottled milk doesn’t taste the same so I only really drink it in tea / coffee these days

I'd rather "risk" drinking fresh milk (don't call it raw, it doesn't need to be cooked)
than what's in some dirt cheap "ready meals" or that shyte Iceland "party food" stuff you see advertised a Christmas.

Processors have made milk a bland uniform product with no appeal to customers, when it should have as much individuality as local cheeses.

Beefy, it's not pasturisation that ruins the taste, it's the fact that the greedy Dairies standardise it at 3.5% BF-then moan about low cream prices

I am sorry, but there is no way pasteurisation does not alter the taste.
It was a shock after drinking our own fresh milk for 35 years to buying milk. There is no comparison

Agree, no way it tastes the same - i loved fresh milk when we had our cows, I don’t think I could drink it now though, just don’t enjoy the taste much of bought milk for me has become just an Ingredient of tea and coffee

I still have muesli drowned in milk for breakfast, but it is not the same sadly.
