Boxing day bellend

Dog walker this morning comes over the stile with a loose dog into a field with 3 escapees in it. He walks up the field with the dog loose and throws a Frisbee for it startling the 3 wild sheep into a corner of the field. I shouted to get the dog on the lead and stomped all the way up the field after him. Thereafter ensued a 3 1/2 minute interaction where he told me I couldn't tell him what to do on a public footpath and that despite us owning the ground, because he'd never seen me on the field I clearly never went there and he could do what he liked. I was videoing the whole thing on my phone including when he swiped at my phone with his Frisbee. I did make one mistake and called him a f**king retard but apart from that I was mostly firm but polite. I was genuinely surprised at the audacity of the bloke and the aggression he showed. I'm tempted to go to the police with the video just to get his collar felt. Anyway that was my boxing day excitement!

Contact the coppers, get in there first because that way they will treat you as the victim and he the aggressor, if he reports you they will work for him.
I don't know if you have a rural police team but we do and they are actually really good.
P**cks like that need putting back in their box.

What did you mean to call him if you hadn't been polite

This ⬆️ get in first with the police, doesn't have to go any further but they can still have words with him if you know who he is.

How did the law ever come to be that a trespasser can maraude through another person's place of business freely? In any other private enterprise its rightly unacceptable. I don't understand why farmers don't lobby for a change in the law. Thank God our land is bordered on two sides with deep, wide, fast moving water. As well as being at the end of a cul de sac well away from busy public roads. On the rare occasion that Trespassers stride across our property you know it's either a thief, vandal or poacher. Although last year I did encounter a yogurt knitting lady who demanded I open a locked gate on a private laneway to allow her access to a river along which she would like to set up camp for the weekend on my land, when I declined she angrily sped off in her tiny car, she seemed highly offended

I'd put the video up but I won't until I've shown it to the popo.
A smack in the teeth usually settles them down
That's what he was angling for and me being calm was really winding him up.

I told him out of control dogs can be shot and a dog off a lead chasing a Frisbee in my eyes is definitely out of close control. And I said if I felt that his dog was out of control worrying my sheep I would have no problems shooting it. He told me if I shot his dog he'd shoot me 😂😂😂

If I could get pp for up there I'd put in for an affordable housing estate with the caveat it has to be exclusively for dole dossers, druggies and gypsy's!

I try to record every interaction I have with Joe Public like that, especially if they under 18. If I forget to set it to video I still hold my phone up so that they think it’s being filmed. In most cases they know that they’re in the wrong, just make the usual excuses.
The best one was 2 youngsters riding bikes around one of my river meadows. When I challenged them the more cocky individual came back at me with “I didn’t know it was a f cking field did I?” :banghead:

Common around here. Try to make first point of contact polite, if it degenerates then mention that next time the dog is loose, he will need a wheelbarrow to carry his dog home. Then take a photo of him and say a warning has been given and that you will notify the police. Normally does the trick here.

From experience, don’t mention to plod that you have informed the individual about the law on shooting Fido. I did and was questioned about the conversation several years later, when I next renewed my shotgun certificate.
