Rang the RPA to chase the payment this morning, very helpful lady went off and checked my claim, came back and said it was at final validation and couldn't see anything wrong with it, and would hopefully be paid by the end of next week. Even though it was a little bit of information, it was great to know everything looked fine, and I thanked her.
I then thought I would check the bank and was amazed to see we had been paid the remainder (£67/ac total).
I must admit that talking to the lady this morning, she sounded much less stressed than staff I had spoken to in January, and she was genuinely happy that the system seemed to indicate that payment was imminent, and others were being paid too.
I hope everyone else who is waiting get paid soon. I did suggest the staff should give the IT guy Maxwell the sack, and Mark Grimshaw a good kick up the ass!

I thought you had already received a payment??

What I don't understand is why none of these people with the emails on Sunday haven't previously been contacted to clear up any queries that may have arisen from the inspection?? as given the fact they do 4500 and this inspection would have been done months ago then you would have thought some queries would have arisen long before now or haven't they even looked at these claims yet??

Mine arrived today. It was also £67 per acre.

I had 7% of total area fallow, so well within Greening requirements, and I've checked with the RPA today on the area I've been paid on, and it's exactly what I claimed. I also had 3 entitlements to spare, so wasn't short on those.

It's certainly a lot less than I expected.

As many have said, it'll all become clear when we get our statements that will apparently follow in 4-5 weeks.

All in all, it's a cock up from start to finish.
Apparently the statements should be posted next week.

Instead of wasting man hours doing that they should be putting them into getting payments out to the 1000s of farmers who are still waiting ( thru no fault of their own ) to be paid!
I can't see why they can't email the statements to those who have been paid (as it's already done and in electronic format anyway) if you want paper version then you'll have to wait till other claims have been finished.
I do agree that priority must be given to farmers whose claims are still outstanding.

We don't know, they won't say.

We still think there are 8000 ish unpaid and not in the delayed ( commons, cross border, inspected) categories. Hopefully two more releases over the next two weeks will see these people paid.

And they seem to be saying the commons and inspected will start to be paid in February. Hopefully all by mid March leaving the cross border into April.

But as ever - I don't run the RPA.

At present we reckon they've paid out 66,000 of the 87,000 ( 75%) which represents 71% of the total fund.

Thanks for the updates(y)

This 8000 you think ( hope ) that will get paid in the next two weeks would surely include most if not all the people that got emails on Sunday surely?? ( working on they paid around 4400 today out of the 12800 last week at this time that had neither an email/ letter or payment )

If they do pay this group of 8000 in the next two weeks then surely it will only leave the original letters of doom to be paid? or are you thinking there will still be the 13000 with letters plus another 2000/4000 with emails still to be paid after the 8000 have been paid??

We don't know how many emails were sent out and how many were sent in error and how many were sent to those who already had a letter. So as I said in the blog, it's just a state of confusion.

We think more than 4400 got paid but we await RPA confirmation.

I hope only 13000 remain in the delayed category which I hope will be paid over the next six weeks.

Who is directly taking the blame for not being able to provide you (the NFU) with correct figures. Total Incompetence. As I'm part owner (tax payer) I would want to see this dealt with.

Who is responsible for emails sent out incorrectly? Again total Incompetence - in fact Gross Misconduct in my opinion, so I would expect at least one dismissal over this?

Someone needs to rattle the cage a bit and get this organisation moving in the right direction.

Thanks @Guy Smith for your input, but getting down to the nitty gritty if we have been remotely inspected will we be able to request the images so that we know they have interpreted correctly. As on the Wales thread there has been large deductions for shadows and Stuff!. From this thread they have paid different rates so we need to know and be able to question the result as it might inpact on next years claim. Also any entitlements you don't use you loose, so they may be removing entitlements you should keep!!

Guy, thanks for all your efforts. I'm very concerned at the variability in payment levels. The majority seem to be at £72 ish per acre. Then there are various lower rates. Mine works out at £57 , is this a part payment, is there a mechanism to appeal this ?
No commons here, no inspection, no real changes for some years.
Confused and concerned in Shropshire.

The biggest concern is that the RPA haven't raised any query's yet with people that have been remotely inspected which will mean payment for this group is a long way off...

At least in Wales they have been dealing with these images for quite some time.

If @Guy Smith's figures are correct and that another 8000 will be paid in the next two weeks leaving only 13000 in the delayed section it will surely mean that they will have to pay several thousand that had the original letters of doom or nearly all the people that had emails on Sunday, given that the RPA have stated they wont be paying people that have been remotely inspected untill 16th of Feb then either the above is correct or they wont be paying anywhere near another 8000 in the next two weeks!

Got a letter from rpa end of November saying we had UNDER CLAIMED by 0.05hect on a 32.78 hect field and this could lead to financial penalty. Phoned up to explain this was a short footpath and was already marked on the new maps they sent us.told this was ok and could i send an email to confirm. Early January I phoned to ask for a progress report on claim and were there any other problems and was told all ok just waiting for verification for payment.31st January got THAT email, gave them a call only to be told we may have had a remote inspection and there may be something to sort out. THE WAIT GOES ON.
