Another thought - Where did the requirement to look at satellite Images for thousands and thousands of claims come from? Was this an EU mandate, or Self Inflicted stupidity?

When did this requirement appear and why is it only being dealt with now??

Will those that received the emails or letters re inspections get proof that they've actually had an inspection or only hear about findings if there is a potential discrepancy? I'm betting half of those that are being told payment is delayed due to inspections haven't even had an inspection but RPA think this is a good excuse for the further delays like i was originally told my delay was because of common land.....erm no I don't have any common land !!!! Now its because of further checks e.g. active farmer, inspections

We don't know how many emails were sent out and how many were sent in error and how many were sent to those who already had a letter. So as I said in the blog, it's just a state of confusion.

We think more than 4400 got paid but we await RPA confirmation.

I hope only 13000 remain in the delayed category which I hope will be paid over the next six weeks.
No letter, emails or payments here yet. Spoke to RPA, said it's still going through validation.

5% of claims have to be remotely inspected.

". . . unfortunately some claimants received an “inspections” email in error.
RPA have advised that they will be issuing a new email apologising for this error"

should we have another pole as I am sure there are some people in the pole that have been paid but have not changed the pole

Dont know if its possible but perhaps the mods could put a banner up to encourage members who receive a BPS to update themselves on the pole. @Clive @llamedos. I wouldnt be surprised if most of the views of this thread are those that haven't been paid.

Just an idea

Just got this:

Dear Sir or Madam

We recently sent you an email (called 'an update on your payment') explaining that the reason we hadn't paid you for BPS 2015 was because we are processing the results of an inspection which we carried out on your holding.

Unfortunately this email contained incorrect information. Although we haven't been able to pay you yet, this isn't because you had an inspection.

Please accept my apologies for this mistake and any confusion it may have caused.

An update on your payment

BPS is a complex scheme and applications need more checks on them this year because of the new scheme rules (for example, the new 'greening' and 'active farmer' rules). This means it is taking longer to process and pay some claims than it did in previous years.

While we can't be specific about the timing of your individual payment, we expect to pay most cases like yours during February. If we don't think it's going to be possible to pay you by then, we will contact you again towards the end of the month with more information. We aim to pay almost all eligible claims by the end of March.

Yours faithfully
