Brexit is destroying Britain

Bridgewater is a ruddy funny place to build a factory that will supposedly create 9,000 jobs. You would have thought the West Mids, North East or Central belt would be the more obvious choices. Even the local MP was saying yesterday that the announcement from the BBC needs words of caution.
There are several really big sites such as British Smellophane (long ceased being smelly) and, just to the north of Bridgwater - note the correct spelling 😁- is the even larger site of ROF Puriton. Both have excellent road links, and very close to M5 J23. I think there's been a reasonable amount of housing development on the cellophane site, though - no longer stinks driving by......🤣

Thank you for the explanation. Although all lost on me - as I am not a businessman or a politician just an ordinary Joe voter.

I appreciate it sounds as though at a national level the EU extracted a good deal to keep my country suppressed following leaving the EU. And it sounds as though during the UK period of membership and since the Eire government as managed to extract a good deal - possibly as it is a small country oft considered the underdog? Problem I see with that as an ordinary Joe such clever and understandable practice by the EU as a collective and member states as individual members can be explained to me as an ordinary Joe as the EU countries ganging up on UK interests. Tied in shackles. Hindered after leaving the EU. And I would suggest that is not good. While I am sure it seems good to you that the UK is made to suffer for the foolishness (?!) of leaving the EU to us individuals ongoing repartitions is not helpful to eventual reconciliation. Just provides ammunition to Mr Farage and his ilk to remind me the ordinary Joe why I may have voted to Leave and going forward why the Europeans are B.......s

As I say I find the posts on here informative and amusing in equal measure and me personally is not going to affect anything.
I don't see it that way, of course the EU tried to protect the interests of the remaining member States, but they also tried to be fair to the UK.
Your government was hell bent on self destruction, when you appoint/elect ideologues, dreamers and toadies, what do you expect?
From the top down they were more interested in Brexit than Britain.

I could go on, but at least the adults seem to have taken back control and the UK economy has been put on a steadier footing and your government is trying to be pro business again.

Meanwhile, you're not going to be allowed to leave just in case you see what we've got and want supermarkets with great quality fruit and veg, oh and water you can swim in etc...
The #BankHolidayWeekend Supplement is currently being discussed.
"Applying for a permit to travel on Bank Holidays would restrict the motorways to those who really need them, and ease pressure on the rescue services" said Michael Gove

Germany has taken in 1 million Ukrainians and around 2 million refugees and migrants from elsewhere.

A reminder that comparing the UK economy to the German one is... not good for the UK. Germany is a major manufacturer relying on energy for production. It had to replace 52% of its gas imports previously from Russia on short notice
In 2019 Russia was its 14 largest target for exports. That's gone, the UK was its 5 largest target for exports - that's gone because of new trade barriers, and the relationship with China, its 3rd largest target of exports in 2019 is, well, also not entirely unproblematic.

So not doing well because of trade problems... so that's ok, ignore it.

But uk has trade problems and its end of the UK, ahhhhhh....
