The College of Agriculture Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) is set to host an online event explaining the new post-EU Exit labelling requirements to NI food businesses.

The webinar, which is titled ‘EU Exit and the Impact on NI Food Products’ will take place on Thursday, January 28 at 10:00am.

The event will consist of three 20 minute presentations, each covering a different aspect of agri-food sales, followed by a live question and answer session for participants to ask their questions to the panel.

DAERA Veterinary Services will give an overview of the importing and exporting requirements.

It will be followed by a presentation by DAERA Marketing Standards, which will summarise the changes to rules around the promotion of food products.

The Food Standards Agency for Northern Ireland will also deliver information on the changes to food business operator address requirements, country of origin labelling along with guidance on health marks.

The event promises to be a useful summary to food businesses and is free to attend. Registration for the event is required and closes at 5:00pm on January 26.
