Calf tail biting

Pen of 9 6 week old Jersey calves & one HoJo of similar age ...... and one of the Jerseys has lunched on the Hojo's tail.
Our calf rearer has a video of it dining out.

Never seen this before and only the Hojo as picked on.
Guess it was either because it is slightly different or it probably had a bit of tasty sh!t on it?

We had a Ayrshire cow would would quite happily eat her calves tail and ears, she would do it to anything else who was close enough at calving, but wouldn't bother after 24ish hours after she calved.

That sounds almost hormone though. You associate tail biting with boredom but odd how the HoJo was picked on. Not done it to any other even though we've shifted the HoJo out to recover from being a snack
