Calibrating A John Deere 750A

Has anyone who owns a 750A come up with any ingenious methods/devices for catching the seed metered out for calibrating that doesn't involve clambering into the depths of the machine?
New machine has 1800ltr tank that runs longways down the frame which puts the outlet right above the middle of the front gang.

And on a 6m one only put seed in the back hopper, it is easier to turn the calibration handle (less force) and easier to catch the seed at the back. With that one set, adjust the front hopper to match, you then only have to check the rate on the front hopper.

Good trick I didn't come up with but do like!!

That's technology moving forward for you!!

(Do like electronic metering, just sounds like the John Deere calibration is a faf.)

its no worse than most drills I have calibrated (its the common accord unit afterall) like most things its a lot easier if you have a man to sit in the cab as well but still easy possible on your own

like most drills a clamber into the space under the hopper is needed though !

If it a 6 metre one, do the calibration with the drill folded. You can easily reach in from the right hand side. Well I can anyway, and I'm only 5'9" ;)
+1. Agree about the Greenstar drive too, unnecessarily OTT, we tried to shortcut it and drilled a few acres with each hopper going at different rates, which doesn't look too pretty now...

How can there be need to make four trips back to the cab when calibrating, is there not a switch under the hopper to run the metering wheel for calibration like you find on a horsch?

Only trouble with the Horsch is that the bag they give you doesn't attach underneath the chute very well. Or maybe I haven't got the knack of it yet - tend to use two people, one standing each side to hold it and catch the seed.

Oh! Steevo I always calibrate on my own!

There are six lugs/pins that stick out on the sides of the air-duct under the hopper. I hook my bag onto the furthest forward and rearward of the six pins (the front pins seem a long way forward of the calibration flap). and don't fill the bag brim full. I hope that helps. :)

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.
