Calving camera

No I’m not worried about being in the grant budget but I’m struggling to find something that is just a one camera simple system that I could possibly just fit myself.
Thanks

Havn't looked at the spec needed for the grant but the Delaval camera kit is a simple fit and play setup that you can watch from an app on your mobile.

Think the grant scheme requires PTZ camera.
Struggle to find a decent one for the standard cost of £160.
We have Foscam one. Does the job spotting a cow calving but not high enough zoom if you need to read tags

This one
Foscam FI9828P 960p HD PTZ Wireless CCTV IP Camera

Just speak to a local CCTV firm, a calving camera doesn’t have to do anything that a normal cctv camera doesn’t, anything that seems to be aimed at a purely ag market seems to be double the price it could be with half the image quality.
Totally agree. As soon as a merchant hears dairy farmer doubles the price. Same as weddings! 50£ through the week 500£ for a wedding!

Yes i get that but the spec on this is very specific. The cow branded ones are not good enough anyway, unless someone can show me otherwise.
Trouble is I gather they are getting very fussy about the specs and I don’t want to jeopardise the other grant items

Can anyone suggest a stand alone calving camera that ticks all the boxes for the small grant scheme please
Many thanks
Ah you beat me to it. The 50 m IR vision seems to be the crunch point, there are many that fulfill all the requirements except they are only 30m IR. We are happy to pay more than the standard cost but struggling to find one that is suitable for a novice to set up.

I’ve sent in the spec of the one above that @A-P-J kindly put up, I will let you know what they think

Yep there’s no documentation in the box just a QR code to download a basic manual. Just remember the IP address comes preset at 192.168.0.200. Whereas most routers I have used use 192.168.1.1 so can be tricky to find on network. Address can be changed once you get onto it’s webpage.

Bought one last year and just bought a second with this grant, hopefully!

If you want a really good camera, hikvision is used by lots of commercial installers. We have this camera and you can zoom in and read an ear tag at 30 metres in pitch darkness. 100m IR and been 100% faultless in the last 6 months we have had it.

@JP1 i know your out of it now but this has been crap. I ended up wiring it direct and ditched wireless routers In hope of better reliability but it’s still crap. Upgraded too 360 camera as was told processor etc was better for reliability, but still very unreliable.
The phone calls to keep it going are never ending and now got too the point I can hardly be bothered with it any more.
Oh well looks like I’ll jump in the car and drive Down too check calving cows again.?
