Why don't you do the change of diet before they leave your place.....
We do a soft weaning, transfer to the buyers diet and do the vaccinations for our buyer. Works really well, with little check to the calves and smooth transfer.
At a price of course....

That has been mooted. The buyer is on a forage based diet and they aren't here.

Margins are tight enough imo without having to treat batches of cattle differently.

We have done vaccinations on request for buyers before. But it is a numbers game and tbh I don't like individualising groups.
Groups are sold as even batches so weights match.

We dont finish cattle. We rear calves

Every 10 cattle sold comes with a free tote of blend. The fact that the cattle are each 20 quid dearer is neither here nor there.

It is not uncommon for a customer to ask for a few 25kg bags, to get them going for a day or so.
Of course they happen to be the more expensive cattle
