Case mx tipping trailer problem

When tipping a dumptrailer when the ram goes too full stroke it will stick not come down, any where else on stroke it will come back down, goes down very slow by gravity, spool does not pull it down, probably normal that but slow, had it on a new trailer other day and stuck on it too,is there something wrong with my spools,mx 135.

Check flow tap on spool is open to max flow.
Check or change the male Hydrolic fitting on the end of the pipe.
We had a dump trailer that tipped over height for some reason, you would have to just pull on and put the brakes on and it came down on its own.

When dumping ( returning ) oil through the spools on an MX the oil is going against approximately 60 psi.
IF the trailer tips almost vertical & there's no gravity to create more than 60 psi the trailer will not come down.
There's a modification that allows a partial free flow return ( a few pints per minute ) to overcome this issue, it's on a service bulletin.
I had it mind that this was fitted to MXs but it's a very long time since I worked on them now.
Perhaps if you could post a few photos of the spool set on your MX135 I could see 8f it's fitted.
You are looking for a small diameter rubber pipe & I think its on the RHS looking from the rear.

Next time jump out & give the linkage on the end of the cable a pull, just to see it's properly in float.
I had to make a support bracket for one of ours as the end of the exposed cable was fiberglass & bending, so not pushing the linkage fully.

Also No: 1 spool has priority, so will rob oil if using 2 spools.

I got this information from a mate, the small pipe I was on about was a modification on a Maxxum 5100 series.
The MX are supposed to have something already build in according to him & this info.
I'm much more comfortable on 5100 series than MXs personally although there are similarities.

PS as other have said try new QR couplings first unless it's doing this on lol the spools, even then change the probe on trailer pipe.

Sorry if this is nonsense, I know nowt about Case hydraulics.

However, I assume the trailer is a single acting ram ?

If so, what use is a free (or partially free) flow return, unless you also have a changeover valve, and a line connected to it ?

Of course the partial free flow will be beneficial on low flow pumps (not exceeding 2 gmp) however you would also need to reduce the pressure line with a flow valve to that limit. I assume the pressure on the tractors double acting coupling will be OK for high flow motors and pumps, as it's a forced return.

Different types of couplings will make a difference, however this is so spring pressure on the tits is matched on each.
