Case needing a new seat at only 5000 hours..

Think my maxxum 140 is needing a new seat. Only just over 5000 hours but its doing some crunching, knocking and just feels worn out.

What seat would anyone recommend? Its a multicontroler but i expect the control armrest would fit on any modern air seat?

Who makes the Seat Grammer ??? if so source one via any Grammer Dealer.
Ask your case dealer first so you know what prices there at MAX anyways.

Its one thing i wont cut corners with in tractors now, Back too iffy after the years of bouncing about in the bloody things
if its £650 or £1200 it is what it is buy the best you can afford is my advice & better than you had previously if you can

I will have a look at the make and model. I was thinking about 800 or 1000 but its hard to tell how good the are by pictures.

i got a really good Black clothed aftermarket Grammer seat just a few years ago to suit a massey & it was pretty much the same build of seat as in current models.
what a diff it made swopping from a well knackered KAB factory seat i can tell you

Only like 80kg my other tractor has never had a seat at over 12000 hours.

This seat is ok about the yard but as soon as ur offroad it crunches alot. Ive oiled it up and had a look but cant see any problems.

I agree. Buy the best seat you can afford.
Long days can seem even longer with a bad back on a crap seat.
You'd spend more than that on a pair of tyres.

£1000 on a high spec seat is nothing on the scale of things but i recon that one above can be had for £800 ish poss a bit less

You can refurbish or replace the base part of the seat. It sounds like some of the nylon bushes have worn. It's a bit of a faf, but really you need to get the seat out anyway, and to avoid needing to get it apart for a long time i would replace the dampers whilst you have the seat out. It should be like a new seat again once properly done.

Your a lightweight then! Sometimes the nylon rollers can break or wear flat spots, take the seat out and repair, we usually service our tractor seats every few years, take them out and give them a clean and a light grease, replace any wearing parts or dampers

If the original seat was not very comfortable when it was new, servicing/repairing it will not make it as good as a new one could be.

a new seat is near on as good as buying a new tractior in comfort improvement
Buy a new one but keep the old one to put back in if you sell it on

Never liked those kab seats much although they are made local to us. The red ones in the 61s were a bit rubbish
