Case puma pto engaging sharp when hot

Have a case puma 195 pto is banging into gear when the tractor starts to get hot. It's fine when tractor is cold. I put a new solenoid on and calibrated it but it hasn't made much difference. Has anyone any other ideas what it could be?

Does your PTO speed sensor work ok?

I had the same with a 240 from new,I think it got a new control module.

Yes it is showing correct speed but could that cause problems like that if it was faulty?

Was it only when it got hot or hot and cold?

Did it all the time.

It uses the sensor along with the twist sensors to engage the PTO smoothly, my T7 was harsh and that was due to the pto speed sensor.

Has it just started being rough?

Happened one on the baler one day all of shot and has done it whenever it gets hot since then. It didn't just get gradually worse.

In that case try doing a H8 reset of the PTO.

It was explained to me that they re calibrate themselves every time it starts the PTO and on the rare occasion it starts something very difficult it can get stuck in that calibration.
