CATTLE - CONTROL FLIES

So one of my heifers due to calve in 3 weeks has got a small black scabby bit on a teat. She has had Spot On twice and tonight had pour on Swish.

My question is what do others use to prevent fly issues and is there anything else i can do?

Same here with a heifer that is not in calf being pestered by flies on a black spot on a teat , i have some flypor so squirted 10ml on her udder from a distance with a syringe would this do the job ?

Complex issue. Single spot applications were developed (decades-ago) for much smaller cows than what are around now. Small doses therefore struggle to reach all parts, hence a bigger-dose product that is licensed to pour along the animals length is preferred. Oil-based is inevitably better in our climate as well. Flypor?

I have used a bit of everything. have had problems over the years with heifers.
1 Garlic Licks
2. Dip end of teats in varnish
3 Spray in around the udder area with CLIX or any product used for blowfly strike in sheep with a hand held sprayer
Repeat every 2 weeks

Anyone tried these for putting fly stuff through?
