The smaller antenna is cheaper, and they discount it a bit more in their starter kit bundled with the board. Rightly or wrongly, I went with the budget survey as mine is in the loft under a slate roof and wanted to give it every chance.
For a few quid you might as well get the better one, buy once cry once. Rolling hills and trees around here so no point cheaping out

And how do you connect this to a Trimble 900 thingy?
If you have a modem and your screen is unlocked for RTK, then put a data sim in the modem and just enter the NTRIP details.
30km, but can still get a fix at 60km+, but accuracy degrades with distance.
Rule of thumb 15mm +1mm per kM from base station.
So 10km from base station, accuracy typically 25mm.
There's no practical limit.
Running cost of base station, a few pounds of electric per year and it needs to be connected to your internet router, the presumption is you already have an internet router and leave it on 24/7.
