When I were a lad, some of the oldies (all gone now) would've referred to this as a brough (rhymes with sheugh) around the moon and it was a sign of colder more settled weather coming.

Any other local expressions for it?

Didnt last long ......... 6.6mm so far today here but it might as well be 60mm looking how is wetted everything again.

I don’t think I have known as many days of continous rain in a year. It stretched back to July here with a couple of 40hrs plus then august, October, Nov and now dec

Don’t think it would have been as bad if the rest of the year was good, it really hasn’t been. Wettest March in decades, wettest july in 40yrs, august, Oct wettest in 50, nov all way above average.

still at least we have some crops in which we didn’t in 2019

that and 3 weeks end of may, early june was the only decent 4 weeks in the last 8 months which is bloody ridiculous when you think about it
