This is the kind of ewe i'm happy with---bit of a bag so she can milk, big gut to process grass & a couple of lambs that look like they might be ok? 2nd set of lambs, she weighed 67kg pre lambing and 62kg pre lambing first time ---plenty big enough

You’ve ringed their tails

I know ---shocking!
Terminal ram lambs tend to get ringed because i want to sell some and people can't get their head around a tup with a tail (yet)
Terminal ewe lambs tend to get left although as you can see some older ewes were docked before i changed policy
I’ve left a few beltex lambs with tails this time, mainly because they weren’t worth wasting a ring on

Dont have any clue as to what you've said. My mind is still struck trying to process you with a woolly sheep??

Marking the hill lambs today. A couple of pictures of Charollais cross lambs all off home bred Tups and born from 15th April onwards.
First ewe a 5 year old Lairg type Cheviot and second a similar aged blackie.

Why should the Society organise it? That would mean the whole membership would have to contribute, directly or indirectly. Surely any purchasers would factor that into their bid?:scratchhead:

paid for by purchasers ,just an organising type thing , not society funded , must be a firm like workmans that are doing circuits from a central point either end of country must be cattle moving either end of uk .

How is the Worcester sale gonna operate, mart/online, catalogue doesn't say.
they still dont know yet , maybe first live sale but they need to be very careful as defra will be all over it with any issues , they were talking about penning every other pen so vendors can stay in shed at viewing ,and people only going ringside to bid , which means any lambs that get impulse bids could suffer , everyone wants the pen leaders , but sellers rely on them to sell the rest .
could be online with 3 week return if animal has any faults (as wont be inspected) but in reality if i (in SW) bought and collected a ram from scotland im going to have trouble returning it if say overshot or bad feet ,(facebook pictures should have been on hard standing not on grass)
Then you have the 5 mile limit in wales , i know business is different ,but could still be difficult
Then where do sellers sleep if from afar , all hotels b/b shut , market cafe shut , except maybe takeaway, bit grim if travelling a long way . Are buyers going to travel with same issues .
Add to the story a lot are selling privately so reducing the catalogue daily , i would be a bit pssd if i was looking at a particular animal advertised on the website to travel and not present as already sold .
Going to be a bldy minefield all round

More animals sold on data?
Videos & pics give a fairly decent idea of locomotion etc..eg saw a pick here on TFF that showed poor pasterns quite recently
It's just a new way of selling & will take some adjusting to, especially if you rely on phenotype & showmanship to sell/buy stock

I’ve bought last couple of years due to circumstances and unable to travel using pictures, video, recording data, breeder advice & discussions on potential faults seen in the videoS. I can honestly say they’ve turned out every bit as good as going through pens at show & sales. These are stock rams & maternal rams as I breed my own terminals.
