Got a steel housed one from keenan. Keenan engineer reckons even their cast ones will crack but not the steelKeenans use the heavy duty casting of the same size bearing. It is possible to buy a replacement bearing from any stockist just make sure you get the heavy duty version.
would stainless one be stronger ???

70 mm Bearing insert that was coming off was uc14 and the new one is ucx14 whatever that means. Bolt holes six inch centresJust check before you go down that route. I don't think the hole centres on the HD are the same
Looks better now than the day after it happened. Must of bled a lot inside and swelled up. Hardly felt it at the time but it's on the x-rayThat looks healthy
Quick update, they left the metal in there as they think it's more risky hacking it open to get it out and put me on some strong antibiotics. Never felt so rough taking them
that like being shotOh and another thing. Be careful hitting a bearing race with a hammer when getting it off. Turns out a chip off the hammer went through a hoodie and a rugby shirt into my arm about an inch deep . Off to hospital tomorrow to try and get it out
