Having been involved from all angles with first the house and then the equipment I feel very close to the job!
I can see I will likely have a stream of people queuing up to visit over the year.

We've been on a big clearup mission this afternoon to make the place look respectable. The workload has been relentless but we are finally getting somewhere.

On that note there were a few followers of this thread who said they'd like a visit once we were done, I think I said we'd be ready by April but there we are! If you want a look round let me know, maybe if there are enough we could organise a morning for it.

Someone is always stood at the machine, I just stepped back to video it, if an egg breaks you stop the machine and wipe it up. As the egg shells get weaker toward the end of a flock cycle this happens more and more often...

Just found, and read this thread. Very interesting @Daniel, job well done. Great to see a project go from start to completion in an afternoon, made it look easy!!.

The fencing is now about finished, thanks to @Andy26 friend Graham, who is on here but has not yet shared his name!

Also, the bees are liking the birds wild flower mix:

We had no way of controlling the poppies without killing the flowers, they look pretty at least, the field was always a problem for poppies when it was in arable.

Our 44k need 55 acres as a minimum, they are also split into 11 separate paddocks so there was an awful lot of fencing!

we have 15 hens lol, when you have 44k, do you turn them out as you would with cattle, or do they come and go to the building under there own free will?,

The pophole doors open at 9am and close just after dark, the birds come and go as they like within those hours.

Works very well if left to its own devices. If you remove stacks of eggs by hand from the pallet and forget to tell it, then this happens:
