No, not news, just an idea of mine, because: Putin could do nothing, NATO wouldn't have to do anything, China gets a chance to pretend it is nice really, lots of Ukrainians don't die. Seems like an all-round winner.

Can this get any stranger, I have a feeling that it may turn out that our only hope of a resolution to this conflict is China coming to our rescue.
After watching John Simpson on TV giving an insight on the views on this war of countries all over the world it seems China relies on Western consumerism for it's lifeline, if we get into a vicious European no holds barred war with Russia then China will lose out big time so it's definitely in their interest to get Putin to negotiate an acceptable outcome that he can live with & sell to his people, I fear this will not happen whilst Rambo Zelensky is in any way involved in the negotiations so maybe standing next to him isn't as safe as I first thought!

Jeez, but I’ve now heard it all. Would you prefer a Quisling Zelensky?
That man has stood out as a beacon of courage, integrity, and sheer grit in the most stressful of situations. The Ukrainian people, are rightly proud of him. The world bar Putin, pretty much respects him without any reservation.

And so many on here saying don't worry the heroic West are coming, planes being smuggled in, let's nuke Moscow & all the time these poor sods are giving their lives whilst you chaps play pretend war games,
The reality is the West are not coming in they are simply prolonging the suffering by shipping in a few weapons that Putin's aircraft don't blow up before they get to the front. I hate Putin as much as the next guy but you have to at some point face reality!

It is more the case that Putin cannot afford to lose so he will throw everything he has at them & however much we may wish it to be different there will ultimately be only one so called winner.

But they are not on their own; they have pretty much the entire Western military industrial complex to supply them with arms, and money. And there is no way Putin has either the numbers, the kit or the money to be able to successfully occupy and hold Ukraine against it.

Putin can only lose this in the end, he knows this, he is sulking, is desperate and lashing out, he is already as good as gone over this, whether it's a matter of days or months or longer; he's stopped being able to make money for the bosses over there, and he's lost the confidence of the people - you can't be in his position in Russia without at least one of those, and everybody knows it.


It's all very well your trying to appear rational, but you really do need to keep track of your own opinion, don't you realise how many times you've contradicted yourself now? Because the rest of us do...
