Can somebody please explain why their allowed to use a engine to drive the foragers but not to pull it? I know the Amish people are well known for their well kept farms but I'm confused at what they can & can't do:scratchhead:

I think that they are confused too. If you look very closely in the background towards the end of the clip an old JD tractor turns up with an empty trailer.
I think that different sects of Amish have different rules. I once drove through an Amish area in Illinois, there were a lot of horses and buggies out the front and round the back of most farms there was a John Deere.

When we were in the US in 2008 we visited an area where some mennonites farmed, they had tractors with steel wheels but had the tread of a tractor tyre bolted to them. There were no pneumatic tyres to be seen.
There were JD4020 style tractors on grain trailers and on a trailed combine.

My only proper time abroad in my early twenties we went on what we called a 2 week grannies bus tour and really enjoyed it couldn't keep up.
One place we ended up was a amish town called Intercourse one side of the road was Amish tourist farm with everything pulled by horses the other was a dealer full of twin wheel stigers and huge discs
