Claas 2650 c mower won't fold fully up into transport position. Anybody got any ideas as to why it won't.

Ram doesn't seem to come up the last bit. Works fine in working position.

Unless there’s some sort of mechanical obstruction then it’s possible the breather is blocked on the cylinder side of the ram and some oil has weapt pass the seals over time. Can you locate a breather on the ram?

No breather on the ram that I'm aware of. The pipe has another port going into the bottom of the ram. Can't see any mechanical obstruction. I was wondering if the oil seals had gone internally, but when it hits the stop in work there doesn't seem to be oil bypassing. Could well be wrong though.

Either ram rod is unscrewing itself from the piston internally or the piston seal has failed and filling the bore with oil there is an m8 bolt you can remove on the ram casing to let any trapped oil out

On top of the ram there is a 10/13mm bolt, take out when the bed is down and refit when the bed is fully raised.

It's the little dimple under the pipe above.
There's a diagram on the ram on our 3050 that shows this, needs to be a vacume that side of the ram seal, I'm wondering if air has got in over time or like you say the seal has gone on the ram, but that little bolt will give you the answer I'm guessing. Just be careful if there's oil in there when your lifting it, might squirt a bit when it comes to the top.

Probably, shouldn't be any oil in there, so only one place for it to come from. Does it creep down if left up with the tap closed on the ram? If so there's another answer to your question.

Doesn't creep down. Started doing it on 2nd cut last season and forgot all about it until now. :banghead: I'll try what you and avag have suggested tomorrow. Thank you for your prompt replies.

A squirt of oil came out ,all working fine now [emoji846]. Many thanks for your help.

Had the lift ram on a kevernland semi mounted plough do same
Plough mot lift up on wheel at the rear
Did what you did but asit had weight on when up
Unlike your mower that has a stay bar to hold it
I ended up replacing the blanking bung with a pipe pointing to the floor so oil would blow out every so often rarther than taking bung out ever few days
