Thanks everyone for the continued help with this, and especially @tullah who helped me out hugely with the drum speed tacho unit. Thanks!

So the lentils are harvested, just the soy beans to go... Unloading the lentils last week and the Senator decided to empty its radiator all over the floor. There is a hole in this bit of pipe (the black bit at the top):

Is this just a generic length of black radiator hose pipe? And how do those clips undo? Some things look like they ought to be simple but somehow aren't. Is there a simple bodge up that would work on this? I've only got a very small area left to harvest and I'm thinking about my options for next year in various ways.

The green pipe probably needs replacing as well at some point. Does anyone know what engine these things have in them? It's a 4 cylinder Perkins but I can't find the engine number on it anywhere. I found a thing on Perkins' website that says where to find the serial number, but it's not hugely helpful as it seems to say it could be anywhere. This combine is not on its original engine.

A couple more photos of it in case it helps:

Yes radiator hose of the correct size will be absolutely fine, those hose clips will unwind but just cut them off & fit new clips

As an aside , mate went to view , poss by a ranger rover from a private dealer , outside spotless as we'd expect. Popped bonnet expecting a spotless bay . Engine filthy shite up , mate asked , guy tells thats a honest bay . Dont go pressure washing in there as ull push water into electrics were it aint suppose to be . It was dity not oily .
Same logic eh , wiring looms don't like water.
Our lass just bought a nice honda crv , main agent , dirty engine.
Got a CRV here done just shy of 200000 she will have to keep on cos nobody will buy her

might be a bit late in the year for you. I think the engine is Industrial perkins 4236 engine, The green steel water pipe was confined to Claas Machines and not to perkins.I used to put a phase tester screwdriver into the split in those hose clips and always worked.
