Youd be better putting peppermint oil in it so you can smell it on their breath.
And if some walkers pass by, you can tell them you are producing pre-minted lamb, to save busy housewives some time.

Speaking of adding dye’s @Bury the Trash anyone ever added food colouring to clear wormer? A friend is using cydectin oral and was saying to me the other day about how much of a nuisance it is you can’t see if a lamb is done like when you can with yellow/orange wormers..
Just Mark their heads as you go
I thought that's how everyone did it

Do any of these products have a licence for cattle? I use Crovect by default, but would switch if I could find something that would keep the files away from the cows' heads. Of course, it may be that Crovect is okay for cows, but it's not mentioned on the label.

Does Crovect / Ectofly, really only protect the areas it touches in terms of fly strike protection. It's interesting that for lice and ticks, a single stripe protects the whole body. Has anybody got any thoughts or experience on this ?

I’m sure there is a cattle version of dysect

Edit. Yes there is £58 for 1litre from mvf, 10ml dose per animal

That’s what I’ve always done, unless working through them in a drenching race, when they don’t get past until they’re done.
Saved me about 50p in wax marker last year by not marking them.(y)

I remember seeing 15+ years ago in FW a new glove that was coming out that would fit a wax marker on the back so as you dosed/jabbed you could glance the knuckle marker across the head/neck of the sheep. Seemed a brilliant idea.
Very rare I mark a sheep as I go, can only remember ever doing a few as I unloaded a trailer into some hurdles, treated them in a circle of hurdles and then let them go.

That's kind of what I mean, it's the skin that the maggots attack, if that has got enough Crovect on it to stop ticks, for example, surely the maggots would be stopped too.
I’m guessing that the maggots would hatch in the wool/sh!t first so by the time they get to the skin they would be to strong or to many for the residue to kill them all before they cause any damage. But that’s only a guess.

I am not sure about ticks but was told you do a line down the spine for mites as they crawl up and over often, so get exposed to the dose.

So i just clik extra treated some lambs yesterday. 1 hour after i finished the last lot there was a steady rain, then dried out and steady rain through night. Whats the chances its worked.

I used clik extra at £170 from carrs. There selling extra for the same price as standard clik as they never bought much standard stuff as there was meant to be a replica product to be released for this year that hasnt happened yet, that will bring the price down.

Also on another note i have used clikzin on lambs that i will start drawing in june. I see clik and clik extra have a 14 day withdrawal period in NZ and Australia but 40 here. Why is this? Id of much rather used it for everything and not clikzin.

There was a circular sponge that was meant to slip over the drenching nozzle and mark each sheep done on the side of the mouth.

I bought a pack, but found the dye went everywhere, and that I'm not too keen on looking at vampire sheeps afterwards.

Especially as it was blue
