Funny you should say that as I have some pure lleyns and they flow through a lot easier. I'll have to make a hydraulic ram to shove the texels up! Best I order some of those back stops.
An adaption which was made after a conversation with Miriam Parker , livestock handling guru, in Australia the outer radius of all curves are railed and not covered in apparently. I thought I would try it and set about the curve section with the angle grinder and welder. I am sure that it helps to draw sheep into the single race. When I get round to it I intend to knock out that bottom section of sheet as well. Having clear sky up through the combi from the bottom of the lead up is key. I noticed that you , hilux in another thread, have TexelX sheep . Alas that might be part of the problem. I run some TexelX ewes and they are always the ones to stop in the race be it through the combi or ordinary race. Attitude!
Definitely .Do they run better through the curve since you let some light in? That's always been one of the reasons I've not had curves, as sheep always head to the way out, whether it's in a race or a hedgeline. I always thought trying to make them run into what looks like a dead end was against their nature.
Every now and then one will not follow on up the ramp but will stay at the bottom peeking round the corner, but when the clamp becomes empty invariably come trotting up toward the clamp. Our scanner has those bristles opposite each other on his lead up ramp to the trailer. As you say it can be a bit harsh on the bigger ewes. Romney Marsh do they stop on the curve at all now they can see light?
Sorry as I'm sure it's been answered but where'd you get it from, think we could do with some?Bristles off prattley back stop on.

I expect they will still be a special order from NZ . That's Ritchey Tagg people because they are a Prattley item not Ritchie , combi clamp builder who you would have thought might have added them as an option by now.Ritchey direct as local rep had no idea what I was talking about!
They had them in Stock when I got mine but yes from ritchey not the clamp builders.I expect they will still be a special order from NZ . Glad to hear that when I got mine a few years ago they had to come over on a special and wait for the next containerThey had them in Stock when I got mine but yes from ritchey not the clamp builders.
Yes but not without some issues. Load bars, reader and auto drafter here, when all working as it should is brilliant.Any one got combi clamp on weigh scales with eid?
Any good?
Unfortunately it hasn't been 100% reliable since we've had it, to say it's totally worth it. Take a month ago we weaned our early batch and it didn't work so ended up removing a door actuator and I did it manually, don't get me wrong when it works it's nice just to press the 1 button and it will record then draft but as I found out doesn't take much more effort or time.Is the auto drafter worth it?
