Had to do a 70 mile run for parts today.
looking at the crops by the road I was glad that I’ve nothing sold forward, it’s not going to be a bumper year up here.

But considering issues around imports, tariffs, and the potential for domestic supply issues I think we're sailing into uncharted waters.
How are crops looking on the continent and the US?

Haven't sold any barley yet .
Thought I'd been too optimistic 3wks ago
but looking at the maize price increases I cant
see why it shouldn't get into the £170s yet.

If it all kicks off in Ukraine grain supply and
security could lead to massive market movements.
Perhaps there is more than just the weather concerns moving
the funds.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
