The crop is there and will take some stopping now
Ukraine is massive so would depend how widespread they travelledHow well does a winter cereal crop stand having tanks and armoured vehicles rolling about on it?
We moan about hare coursers and the likes over here, but I don't suppose the farmers near that border are having a good time of it.
What spot price for feed barley in the South?

Oh dear you disaster capitalists hold the country to ransom at a time when democracy is under threat. Maybe Rayner is right to characterise you and Rees Mogg as Tory scum?irrelevant if you cant harvest for fear of being shelled or shot ! or more importantly all your ports are closed
It's the ports that are so important not just for their exports but other eastern european countries as well - first thing that will happen in conflict is they will close
There will be export sanctions as well if things kick off
Bit strong isn't it? It's just an observation on what is a likely consequence if it does kick off in Ukraine, I know Clive's important round here but he's not actually pulling old Vlad The Invader's strings to bump his own margins up.Oh dear you disaster capitalists hold the country to ransom at a time when democracy is under threat. yes IF, and even then theyd surely reach some sort of agreement as russia would then pretty much control the wheat markets if they take control of ukraine as well as gas ?irrelevant if you cant harvest for fear of being shelled or shot ! or more importantly all your ports are closed
