Combine air con

With up to 20 days (20 working days = 4 weeks and a bank holiday?) dispatch time and another week in transit the harvest need will likely be gone .....

I phoned to check and they said they've got them on the shelf so i could have it next day, but a bit reluctant to sell me one because of the dust being an issue apparently

I put this in my old Clayson 1530 it wasn’t an easy job but it did work well. https://www.carbuilder.com/uk/compact-air-conditioning-kit

The roof top add ons work well, just keep the condensor cleaned regualrly.

Only thing with them is their power consumption - youll need a) very heavy power properly installed fused and connected direct to the alternator and b) possibly a larger alternator to cope with the extra 50+ amp loading

It will be a big job to fit a proper kit, condenser in front the radiator, evaporator in cab roof etc, brackets for compressor etc, etc.
I honestly doubt its viable.
I cant see one of those kits being any good on a combine either, they cannot filter and shift the volume of air surely.
when the power-shower on our Dom 85 packed up, i fitted a low plywood box in place of the Great Plains unit that held a tractor cab rectangular filter on each side face and then put a big Kenlowe fan in place of the original cab fan. Ok it still blew ambient air, but suffice to say a toupee wearing driver would soon been uncovered. it was a huge improvement.

The amount of Dominators sitting in breakers yards it might be worth buying the parts to retrofit to your one. Cant see there being a huge demand so might be not to hard to buy.
Ours has air con which has never worked in our ownership, always thought of rigging it but for about a week a year have never bothered.

If there is somewhere to drive the compressor from on the front pulley then it should be possible to build the system from scratch. Is it a Mercedes engine?

There will be a spare vee on the multi-vee tailshaft pulley no doubt.
I think you will be fairly lucky to do any good buying secondhand off a breaker, compressor will be shot for starters if it is still there. Only really looking at evaporator and condenser and bracketry, maybe hoses...
