My dad passed away this morning at home with me and mum with him.
So sorry to hear this. Heartfelt condolences to you and your Mum.

I only had the pleasure of meeting him in person once and he was just as friendly and good fun as he'd been through the magic of TFF.

We've exchanged PM's a few times over the years and had endless fun exchanging banter on this thread.

The world has lost a really good bloke and this forum has lost one of the corner stones of the livestock and forage section.

It will be hard for you for a while but nobody can take away the good times.

Look after yourself and your Mum.

RIP @Gator .

He always came across as one hell of a genuine and caring man who will be greatly missed by us all, this has been one of my favourite threads on here it showed his love of his family, his friends, his livestock and the beautiful part of the world where he farms
I will always remember a few years back when a forum member was struggling how Ian and the rest of the gator gang went and sheared his ewes for him I don't think he knew him outside of here it just showed what a kind and giving man he was

Deepest condolences for your loss, I’ll miss his logic on here. He started this thread just two weeks before my own father passed away, reading his posts over the years undoubtedly helped along whilst dealing with our own grief. Take your time and if things ever get too much, just take a minute and think - what would dad do. All the best for the future, regards.

Happy at it

I had never posted on this thread before, but always checked in. This might be silly from a complete stranger, but reading your father posts, seeing his photos of stock and farm, and how he shared his interest and love for it all with his family and friends on here was so infectious and uplifting.. He was a true stockman and his enthusiasm and approach to life always made me want to try harder with things. I am so genuinely sorry for your loss....

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
