Oh my gosh, I really don't have the words.

What a gentleman, I remember as a newbie on here, one of the first "outside a thread" conversations I had was with Ian,, probably cemented my love for the forum to be fair.

Really enjoyed our correspondence, the videos and the craic on here .

Would like to offer my sympathy and condolences to family and friends, RIP friend .

@gators girl

I was sent a PM earlier suggesting I post the link to the thread I started in Agricultural Matters in memory of Ian your Father and in case you hadn't seen this

Again I convey on behalf of all TFFers our sincere condolences to the family and all who knew him

Both threads clearly demonstrate how well thought of @Gator was

I too am deeply sorry to here the news, Ian was a great source of practical wisdom for all things sheep many a conversation have taken place and helped me immensely. I like most forum members thoroughly enjoyed his thread and I was always learning from years of experience. @gators girl take a lot of comfort from everybody's love of your father even though we may have never met you and your family, you are in all our thoughts.

I would just like to thank each and everyone of you for all your kind words regarding my dad. I wake up every morning wishing that this is all a very bad dream, but unfortunately it never is :cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:Needless to say he has most definitely left a massive hole in my heart. I feel so lost with out him. I’m currently feeling like Im way in out of my depth with everything. I’m nowhere near the farmer dad was but believe me when I say I am really really trying to do him proud.
So thank you all again for all of your kind words. It really means a lot xxx

As far as the farms concerned your going to feel like that but you know exactly what your doing, you’ve been trained for it all your life, you may make mistakes an you’ll find your own ways to do things maybe a little different to what dad did but you’ll get the job done I’m sure! The forums here to throw ideas around an ask advice if you need to, or just rant an get things off your chest!! You’ll see it through, we’re all thinking of you

I am certain there are any amount of friends and neighbours who will be only too willing to help you out. You need to be brave enough to ask.

And somebody you love will still help you out, your Dad. I still find myself asking my Dad what I should do 20 years after he passed away. Your Dad will have seen it all before and lots of it with you by his side, so you’ll be fine. 👍

Don’t be too hard on yourself. This is a big shock to adjust to. If anyone offers help say yes until you find your feet.
Your Dad has left you a marvellous legacy in this thread. It will be hard for you to read now, but it will, along with his other messages help guide you in the future. Look at it as Gator towers own little reference library.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
